New Dragon, whoopee do!

Apparently we're getting a new Dragon, whoopee do! Look at this lot. The spin is that these intrepid entrepreneurs are on the lookout for business talent to invest in. It's a wonderful concept isn't it? Inventors with cool business ideas display them to the panel, who, if they think an idea is worthwhile will then vie with each other to give the happy individual thousands of pounds of investment capital.

So what could possibly be wrong? Surely the concept is great, putting new ideas and inventions before the public and helping the would be entrepreneurs to launch their products?

Well, basically it's all bollocks. Dragon's Den is nothing more than another reality show, manipulated behind the scenes, just like others such as X Factor and The Apprentice, for maximum dramatic effect. All of the Dragons have enjoyed spin off tv shows, books, interviews you name it, but what of the entrants.

Sadly, when the cameras have stopped rolling the Dragons begin to lose interest and most of the much celebrated "deals" evaporate into rancour and double dealing. Many of the winners on Dragon's Den, when they get to read the small print on the contracts, find that their deal turns out to be little more than a business loan.

So don't get carried away folks, it's just more junk tv, ho hum!

They want to drive cars but they can’t be permitted to break down, thus the breakdown services actively discriminate in their favour. (So if you’re a bloke stuck in the middle of nowhere.. tough, you’ll just have to wait!)
