Before we get carried away

Before we get too carried away by the latest events in Libya and Cameron portrays himself as the great liberator as he most surely will, remember this.

This little Cameron vanity project has cost this country hundreds of millions of pounds. Having spent all that dough on flattening the infrastructure of Libya we will now commence to waste further countless millions on building it up again. All this against a background of cuts in our own country to the young and hard pressed.

Not to mention the little matter of many thousands of Libyan dead, many of them babies. Not one British serviceman lost his life in this conflict because we did it all from the air (officially), great for us, not so good for the Arabs!

Finally the little matter of NATO'S role. Remember how two faced Clegg made such great play of Iraq as an "illegal" war? The UN resolution to interfere in Libya was only to protect the lives of civilians, not to actively join the rebels against Gadaffi as we very definetely have. Still, when you can cover yourself in glory as the great liberator what's a little bit of illegality?

The mere fact that you have bought or are at least reading this book pre-supposes that you feel the need to act. However, taking back control of your life is no simple matter and certainly not to be entered into lightly. As somebody once said, “If it were easy everybody would do it.”
